I will mention it to my friend Dorothy at work today—she and I swap books often. We were laughing earlier this week to find we were each reading an Anne Tyler book–mine was for Orange July, of course.

Truth be told – my son came home late tonight -and I was still up. He has one more year to graduate with BSc in Computer Science – and I said to him – do you know what the Orange Prize is, can you name the 2011 winner and the shortlist. It came about while my son was expounding on the importance of Computer Science and I had to put my two bits in for Literature:) I told him how I was nearly finished my Orange read – and the other Oranges that I have read. Poor child of mine! 🙂

I already own the The History of Love – so please don’t enter me in today’s contest.

    Thanks again! 🙂

My sister and I discuss and swap books. When she rang today I told her about the Orange Prize (she already knew about it), and about Orange July (she didn’t know about that). 🙂

I talked about the Orange Prize and the latest winner, Obreht’s The Tiger’s Wife, with my English teacher. She in always encouraging students to read, and is one of the people I share my enthusiasm for books with — we are the best of book friends!
We love to swap books, and keep recommending them to each other. In fact, I just received my copy of The Tiger’s Wife. I am eagerly looking forward to reading it, and sharing my observations with her!

Hope I win this time! 🙂

I’ve posted on Facebook my indecision about which Orange winning/shortlisted book to read next, The Outcast or the Tenderness of Wolves, as part of Orange July.

I have shared all about the Orange Prize with my Real Life Book Club and just on the phone this A.M. with an ex-coworker and friend. She was fascinated so I wouldn’t be surprised to see her show up here. I do hope she pops over. Her name is Louwana.
I so badly want to win this one. Krauss wrote my (so far) favorite and only 5 star Orange read this month: Great House.
    Have a lovely day all.

I shared your site on Facebook at the end of June, and already have a few takers. (My friend Marjie is the winner so far, because she’s read 17 of the books already… in her lifetime, not this month. Just had to clarify that.) My friend Susy just posted that she’d finished the History of Love & loved it, and I was just thinking of adding it to my wishlist! So it would be cool to win today. 🙂 Thanks very much.
